Caitlin – I hope you love them all and enjoy seeing the remaining images soon!

Bad weather wedding photography

Many couples who are looking to book me as their wedding photographer ask about poor weather and the sort of photographs that can be achieved if the sun decides not to shine. In reality, bad weather can quite often mean good photographs, for example we can achieve real epic, romantic photographs with overcast cloudy skies and the diffused light is incredibly flattering. In fact, as a UK based Nottingham wedding photographer, more often than not the weather is typical of our country and we get rolling, thundery clouds that create a sense of drama in wedding photographs, delighting clients who were perhaps initially disappointed that the sun didn't shine for them. So don't worry if on the morning of your wedding the sun isn't shining, the storm clouds are forming and a strong breeze picks up; brave the best of British weather and just think of those stunning photographs!

Zoe & David's Wedding

Many congratulations to Zoe and David whose gorgeous Autumn wedding brought with it blue skies and sunshine! Prestwold Hall in Loughborough hosted the day in true style, which was decorated with stunning floral arrangements by Flowers By Sarah (no connection!), who also created the bouquets and buttonholes. Prestwold Hall is a privately owned property with period details and beautiful planted gardens that we didn’t have to walk far to appreciate, which all contributed to an intimate wedding vibe. Touches of luxury were important to Zoe and David, such as Zoe’s stunning Ian Stuart dress, real rose-bud confetti, the beautiful string-quartet playing in the background and the fabulous hand-painted wedding cake featuring foliage and peacocks (in homage to the real peacocks seen wandering Prestwold’s gardens!) Zoe and David - I hope you and your friends and family love your wedding photographs and I'll look forward to showing you the rest in the coming weeks!

Rebecca & Richard’s Wedding Day

Saturday saw the wedding of Rebecca and Richard, who were married at The Riding Hall at Thoresby. The day started at the very charming Brown’s B&B in Holbeck, Nottinghamshire, where Rebecca had booked out all three rooms for her and her bridesmaids to get ready. We then went on to Thoresby, where fairy lights and white roses decorated their ceremony hall, and friends and family had gathered to see them say their vows. After the ceremony, we braved what felt like gale force winds to capture some rather epic photographs near Thoresby Hall. Rebecca and Richard are a gorgeous couple and were easy to photograph, but I must say an extra thank you to Rebecca for being so wonderful about being outside in the blustery weather - Rebecca I hope you agree that the photographs are totally worth it! I love how her veil took on a life of its own and lifted in the wind, which made a beautiful image that little bit more special. Congratulations to you both – your images will be available to view in the coming weeks. Mirror Imaging wedding photographers Nottingham

Claire & Martyn's Wedding

Many congratulations to Claire and Martyn who were married in the Orangery at Newstead Abbey, Ravenshead, followed by a reception at Bestwood Lodge, Nottinghamshire. Claire and Martyn are a fun-loving couple and genuinely enjoyed their special day, which was filled with much laughter and emotion. It was Martyn’s wish to have a ‘hat shot’, with the ushers and best men throwing their hats over Claire, who braved nine top hats falling from the skies with a smile on her face! Their ceremony was very moving and following two beautiful readings there wasn’t a dry eye in the house, including mine! Newstead Abbey is a stunning wedding venue to marry and always a pleasure to photograph, with its mature, landscaped gardens offering so much variety and beauty. We took Claire and Martyn to have their photograph taken amongst one of my favourite spots: the tropical palms, as well as in the traditional old English herb and rose gardens with their beautiful scent and symmetry. The weather was warm, dry and sometimes sunny, resulting in interesting and changeable cloud formations, which made for striking and atmospheric wedding photography. Their remaining wedding photographs will be online in the coming weeks.
