Natalie and Dan's Engagement Shoot in Farnsfield

More and more couples are booking me for their wedding day after a phone call, rather than meeting first, knowing that we get chance to meet up and plan the big day on the engagement shoot. Natalie and Dan did this too, and it was great to meet them at the weekend, especially as they're such a lovely couple and their Christmas-time wedding plans sound just fabulous! We had a photo walk around the village of Farnsfield, taking in the scenery and the beautiful Autumnal light and colours. Here are their engagement photographs. I'm looking forward to capturing their big day in late December!

Heather & Robbie Pre-Wedding Shoot

Heather and Robbie are marrying very soon at the epic Normanton Church on Rutland Water, with a marquee reception at the William Cecil Hotel in Stamford. This will be Mirror Imaging's third wedding in and around Stamford and it's a really beautiful part of the country. We met up with them while we were visiting the area doing our pre-wedding recce, and I chose the George Hotel in Stamford as the location for their engagement photographs, who kindly allowed us to use their stunning gardens. White roses (planted in memorial of Lady Diana), white geraniums, and an abundance of apple trees, rosemary and sage made for a beautiful backdrop. It was the first time we'd met with Heather and Robbie, who booked over the phone, so it was really lovely to meet them and share a glass of wine (thank you Robbie!) whilst planning out their wedding day timings.

Gemma & James's Wedding at Farndon Boathouse

Gemma and James were married last weekend, with their reception at The Farndon Boathouse near Newark. With their small guest list of close friends and family, Gemma walking to church, the couple sharing the bus with their guests over to The Farndon Boathouse restaurant, which they hired in its entirety, and our walk along the river for photographs, the whole day was a relaxed and personal celebration. The bouquets in zingy bright shades, by Zinnia Florists, stood out as something special and I loved the inclusion of succulents. The beautiful 'naked' wedding cake decorated with fresh fruit was also a highlight. Thoughtful touches, such as the hip flask gifts for both fathers pre-loaded with their favourite tipple, bracelets for Gemma's bridesmaids, and gift bags for all the children, were given throughout the day to be worn and enjoyed and helped make sure all their guests felt a part of their day.
