Laura & Nick Newstead Abbey Engagement Shoot

Our final engagement photoshoot on Saturday was with Laura and Nick back at the gorgeous grounds of Newstead Abbey, and we broke the ice by asking Nick to lift Laura in the air, which he did so well and I love the resulting photograph! We walked around the lake and down by the waterfall before returning to the incredible rhododendron bushes in full flower. Afterwards we planned out their full day, which I'm looking forward to being a part of.

Jenna & Matt's Engagement Photoshoot at Lakeside Towers

Jenna and Matt are marrying this July with a traditional church ceremony and their reception at Belton Woods. I'm going to be capturing their full day from bridal preparations through to first dance. We met up at Lakeside Towers (thank you to Lakeside for permission) on Saturday for their engagement photoshoot, to take advantage of the stunning gardens currently in full bloom.

Amanda & Mike Engagement Shoot at Newstead Abbey

On Saturday we had three engagement photoshoots, the first being with Amanda and Mike ahead of their July wedding. After a very wet week the rain thankfully held off on Saturday for us to stay dry! It was wonderful to be able to capture their genuine laughter and I love how happy their resulting images are. After a photo-walk, we finalised their wedding day details over tea. They're planning a church ceremony followed by a marquee reception and BBQ feast in their local pub for all their family and friends, so I anticipate a relaxed and happy wedding day, whatever the weather!

Emma & David's Nottingham University Wedding

Emma & David were married at the weekend on a searing hot Saturday! The day started for us with the girls getting ready on the top floor of the Orchard Hotel on the Nottingham University campus. Emma looked radiant and was beaming all morning and the light on the rooftop was dreamy, so we took some time to capture the happy smiles before heading off across town to the church to meet with David. When we arrived the sun was beating down without a cloud in the sky. It's difficult light to work in, but when you get it right the photographs are wonderfully warm and the sun makes the colours brighter. After their Catholic ceremony, we threw confetti in the sunshine and headed towards the university gardens. Susan and I had found a picturesque, peaceful oasis the week before that would give Emma & David something different for their photographs and we took some of my favourite images around the rocks and waterfall, amongst the irises and wild garlic. Of course I also captured one with the impressive Trent Building in the background. Guests enjoyed drinks on the lawn before we left them to their wedding breakfast. Here are some of my highlights.
