Michelle & Shaun's Wedding

We're experiencing a gorgeous heatwave this May and Michelle and Shaun's big day fell on one of the hottest and sunniest days yet. Our day started bright and early in Michelle's home with Susan at Pretty Flamingo doing all the girls' make-up, while I busied myself capturing beautiful details and the morning activity. Michelle chose some of my favourite bridal things for her wedding, from her fishtail lace Pronovias dress, to her Jimmy Choo shoes, to my favourite flowers, lily of the valley and roses. And the end result was stunning in every way. Their ceremony was held at Edwinstowe Church, then Michelle and Shaun travelled by blue and cream Rolls Royce (or red bus for the guests) to Norwood Park in Southwell, to be greeted by toastmaster Geoffrey Harris. We had some photographs in the garden while the guests enjoyed drinks on the lawn. And as a surprise for Shaun, Michelle booked close-up magician Marc Oberon who went down a storm. Norwood was dressed in pale blue details and white flowers, with each table taking its name from a flower and each place setting holding a single stem. It was an elegant wedding for an elegant and graceful bride. Wishing both Michelle and Shaun a wonderful honeymoon in Bali.

Diane & Heather's Engagement Photoshoot

At the weekend we met up with Diane & Heather, who are getting married early this June followed by a reception party with friends and loved ones. They're planning a wedding that centres around their guests having fun so they want me to capture their guests naturally on the day, with some gorgeous photos of them thrown in! We had a walk around local gardens for their engagement photoshoot and I hope they love the resulting images...

At the weekend, Michelle and Shaun came over for their engagement shoot and the plan out their big day. They're marrying in May with a reception at Norwood Park in nearby Southwell, so we've got our fingers crossed for more beautiful sunny weather! Here's their engagement photographs...

Natural Portrait Photography

John came for some photographs recently, and we spent a little time in one of my favourite locations, taking some very natural images. An outdoor photoshoot is the best solution if you don't want or need a full studio photoshoot, and the results are relaxed but polished. It was snowy, with the sun fairly low, which made for gorgeous lighting.

Mum-To-Be Photoshoot

Jo is 7 months pregnant and came to the studio last week for a pregnancy photoshoot. I'd had a vision before she came that we'd do something a little pre-Raphaelite in style, and as it turned out her naturally warm colouring and curly hair suited it perfectly. Susan at Pretty Flamingo was on hand to do Jo's gorgeous makeup. We changed clothing and lighting a few times to give some variety to the images. The softness in the photographs is really beautiful and serene, and I think she looks stunning.
